Coronation Street star leaves ‘dream job’ in ITV soap opera and confirms that he has already filmed his final scenes

Coronation Street’s Amy Robbins has announced that she has left the ITV soap after making her debut a few weeks ago.

The 51-year-old actress, who plays Daisy Midgeley’s mother Christina Boyd, revealed that she already filmed her final scenes on the cobblestones.

Amy took to social media to share a photo of herself hugging co-stars Charlotte Jordan and Rob Mallard while gushing about the “dream job.”

She wrote: ‘And so… Christina bids a fond farewell to her beloved long-suffering Daisy and her beloved soon-to-be father-in-law Daniel.

‘@charliejordanxo @rob.mallard @sallyannmathews I will miss you. Thanks to EVERYONE at @coronationstreet for making me so welcome. As far as dream jobs go… this one was hard to beat.’

Amy, who is the aunt of TV star Emily Attack, has had minor roles in Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Blood Brothers before and a starring role in The Royal.

His comedian brother, Ted Robbins, 67, starred in Coronation Street as Brendan Finch opposite Mary Taylor as his love interest in 2016.

Amy previously spoke of her delight at landing the role of Daisy’s long-lost mother, saying her star-studded showbiz family is “very happy” for her.

speaking to MirrorThe actress said she burst into tears when she heard she got the role of Christina.

She explained: ‘My family is very happy for me. You know how much this Coronation Street role means to me.

‘We are never competitive with each other and we are all very close. My dad, Michael, worked in variety his entire life, and my mom, Elizabeth, sang.

‘Showbiz is in our DNA, it’s a family business that has lasted for generations.’
