Coronation Street star Ellie Leach ‘is using Strictly Come Dancing to recover from heartbreak’ following split from ‘cheating’ ex-boyfriend: ‘It’s given her something to smile about’

Ellie Leach has reportedly joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing to heal her heartbreak following her split from ‘cheating’ ex-boyfriend Reagan Pettman.

Sources have revealed that the BBC’s ballroom and latin competition has helped the former Coronation Street star put a smile back on her face.

Ellie Leach, 22, who quit her role as Faye Windass earlier this year after ten years on the Cobbles, split with her dancer beau in May following allegations of “cheating.”

According to The mirror, a source said, “She heard that Reagan had gone behind her back, and they broke up. It was very sad, but for her the trust was gone and there was no going back for them as a couple.

“Ellie is a very positive person and always has a smile on her face, but it has been a tough time. That’s why it was great that she landed. Strictly speaking, it really has given her something to smile about.”

It was also reported that Ellie broke away from her boyfriend Reagan five years ago after taking “time to think about where her life is going” after leaving Corrie.

Sources claimed that Ellie would welcome the so-called “Strictly Curse,” in which stars fall for their dance partners.

A source told The sunThis could be the tonic for Ellie, who has had some huge life changes this year and could use something new to focus on.

“Ellie has the world at her feet after leaving Corrie and she’s taken some time to think about where her life is going.

“Ellie and Reagan decided to call it a day and she’s making the most of her bachelor status.”

After her final scenes aired, Ellie paid tribute to her “best friend” Colson, admitting that he is one of the “most special people” in her life.

She wrote, “To my best friend where to start, starting this job at the age of 9, I didn’t know what to expect, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would meet someone who would be one of the most special become people in my life.

“You really are one in a million, I’ve never met someone like you before and I’m so blessed to call you my best friend, just don’t rush to find another fiancée, okay!!!!!!
