The shocking departure of the evil Stephen Reid from Coronation Street has been revealed, after his latest assassination plot was thwarted.

But before he leaves, it’s clear that his work is not done yet as far as his crimes are concerned and someone else is about to fall victim to his senseless crimes.

In the next few episodes, Stephen, played by Todd Boyce, can be seen struggling to contain his emotions as he tries to dispose of the body of his latest victims.

Down by the canal at night Audrey Roberts’ son can be seen putting the body in a roof box.

Placing some rubble next to the corpse, he pushes it into the water, much to his relief.

But viewers have yet to find out who the body belongs to and whether or not he’ll get away with it this time.

Teddy came close to exposing Stephen’s criminal life during an episode that aired last month, before being struck by a vehicle on his way to confront Stephen about the absence of his son Leo.

It is revealed that Stephen murdered Leo after discovering that the structural engineer was insolvent and was stealing from his own mother.

Stephen took his phone and claimed to be Leo, texting Teddy to say that he had moved to Canada alone and did not want him or Jenny to contact him.

Shock! Later in the week, Hope is horrified to find Cilla's cage door open and then lets out a scream when she finds him dead on the carpet as Peanut watches from her basket.

For a while, his plan worked, but Teddy grew suspicious and traveled to Canada to confront his son.

Teddy broke the news to Jenny again after realizing that Leo had never made it to Canada, but Stephen did get there first.

Teddy was subsequently struck by a van and taken to the hospital, where he was placed in an induced coma to save his life.

So Stephen went to kill Teddy to silence him permanently.

‘Teddy, are you there?’ he muttered under his breath to the character, who was in a coma.

He continued: ‘This is the last thing on earth I want to do. I’m really sorry for what I did to Leo. It was an accident. I panicked, but anyway, here goes nothing, see you later old friend.

But, when Stephen went to kill Teddy, Jenny went back inside unaware of the situation.

Instead, he took him out of there so the doctors could check on Teddy.

Back at the Rovers’ Return pub, he learned that Teddy would most likely survive.

Stephen was very concerned until he received information from six guys about his moped mishap and realized he could simply sue them for financial compensation.

They agreed to their demands for £10,000 before the game’s conclusion tomorrow, with Stephen later revealing that he would be leaving the country.
