Coronation Street viewers couldn’t believe their ears after Mary Taylor shared a highly X-rated story during Wednesday’s episode.
The beloved florist (played by Patti Clare) left fans of the ITV soap in shock when she told a sordid childhood story to Brian Packham (Peter Gunn).
It all started when the head teacher revealed that he had found a cousin who lives in Italy and that he had plans to visit her.
He had asked Mary if she could help make the trip possible, hoping she would offer to run The Kabin, a newsagent, in his absence.
But she had misinterpreted Brian’s request and thought he had invited her to come along.
“I can’t undo it!” Coronation Street viewers couldn’t believe their ears after Mary Taylor shared a highly X-rated story during Wednesday’s episode
What?! The beloved florist (played by Patti Clare) left fans of the ITV soap in shock when she told a sordid childhood story to Brian Packham (Peter Gunn)
‘Oh how beautiful,’ said Mary, ‘you know I was there once many moons ago when I was young and carefree and full of spirit.
‘In fact, there was a memorable afternoon at Castel Nuovo with an ice cream vendor.
“Unfortunately I have now forgotten his name, but I will never forget the color of his eyes or even the taste of his frutti di scusa.”
While Brian told her it was a “very moving story,” the audience at home was stunned by her admission and took to Twitter to share their horror.
One wrote: ‘Bloody hell mary. Full of #spunk ??? #coronationstreet #ITV #share #viral,” while another said, “@itvcorrie, I can’t undo Mary’s line #Corrie.”
A third wrote: ‘Mary travels through Naples full of spirit. What a picture #Corrie,” with another question, “@itvcorrie Did Mary just say she was full of spirit?!”
Someone else concluded, “Did she… Did she just say she was full of spirit? #Corrie.’
During the previous episode, Corrie viewers claimed they already knew how Aaron Sandford will pay for his crimes, amid his disturbing rape storyline.
Hilarious: The audience at home was baffled by her confession and took to Twitter to share their disgust
Aaron (played by James Craven) sexually assaulted Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) in a previous episode, but she soon opened up to her mother Tracy (Kate Ford).
On Monday’s episode of the ITV soap, Tracy designed her own posters to raise awareness of rape and posted them all over the city.
A shocked Aaron was left indignant and tore down several plates, leading Peter (Chris Gascoyne) to conclude that Aaron was guilty.
When Mary (Patti Clare) found a flyer at the florist’s printer, an enraged Peter told Steve and Tracy, leading Amy to worry that others might know about the incident.
She soon told her uncle Peter what had happened.
Fans soon took to Twitter, where they claimed that Peter would “sort out” Aaron, and one even hinted at murder.
One viewer wrote, “Aaron will end up in the trunk of Peter’s car just like Billy the Vicar #Corrie,” while another added, “Peter is going to knock Aaron out #Corrie.”
A third wrote, “Peter needs to work with Tracy to get rid of Aaron #corrie,” to which someone else replied, “I have a feeling everyone on that street will know someone might kill him.”
Another concluded, “#Corrie Peter Barlow will sort Aaron.”
