Coronation Street’s Claire Sweeney has major gaffe as she accidentally ‘confirms’ her co-star is set to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house
Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has accidentally confirmed that her co-star will enter the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The former Brookside star was seen chatting to Good Morning Britain presenters Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid about the highly anticipated reality TV show on Monday.
While the rumored lineup has been announced, the confirmed list of names is being kept under wraps until the show airs Monday at 9 p.m.
The mistake happened during a conversation about the rumored uncle of the Princess of Wales, Gary Goldsmith, will appear on the show.
ITV presenter Susanna Reid said he would ‘blow royal protocol out of the water if he appeared’.
But Claire revealed her Coronation Street co-star Colson Smith, 25, was part of the line-up.

Colson plays police officer Craig Tinker in the long-running soap opera.
On whether stars forget the presence of cameras in the house, Claire said: ‘Colson, who is in Corrie, is one of the nicest guys in the world
‘These people are aware that they are on television. They know how it works.’
The confidence in her voice seemingly confirmed that her co-star would be hitting our screens tonight as she joked: “I’ll be watching.”
The former Celebrity Big Brother runner-up, who appeared on the show in support of Comic Relief, was delighted with the programme.
‘For me it was fantastic. I mean, I came out to myself. It was like fifteen years of hard work for overnight success.”
She added, “(It) really propelled me and got me all my dream jobs.”
This comes after the Coronation Street actor was previously rumored to be entering the Celebrity Big Brother House.

A source told The Sun: ‘Big Brother producers have been in talks with Colson for months and it appears to be a done deal.
‘They are delighted that he is keen to enter the country’s most famous house as he is a big name already loved by millions of viewers and they were determined to bring in someone from Corrie as it is a great cross-promotion for ITV .
‘Colson’s character Craig is a firm favorite with soap fans and he’s just as likeable and down-to-earth in real life, so don’t be surprised if he ends up winning the whole thing. He has all the makings of a Celeb BB champion.”
An ITV spokesperson said: ‘All names are pure speculation at this time and viewers will have to tune in to see who will enter the Celebrity Big Brother house.’
Colson first set foot on the cobbles of Coronation Street in 2011, when he was just 13 years old.
His character has featured in several intense storylines over the years, from being bullied as a schoolboy to becoming a police officer and battling OCD.
Colson has also previously dabbled in reality TV, previously taking part in ITV’s The Games in 2022 alongside the likes of Ryan Thomas and Wes Nelson.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Colson made a huge lifestyle change by taking up running and losing ten stone.
The actor, who admits he was targeted by cruel trolls because of his weight growing up in the public eye, said the lockdown inspired him to make a change.
