Coronation Street will air one more episode this weekend for Queen Elizabeth II’s National Moment of Reflection.

The soap, along with many other TV shows, had episodes taken off the air after Her Majesty passed away peacefully on September 8, at the age of 96.

ITV changed their schedule to accommodate events ahead of the monarch’s funeral, with Coronation Street now broadcasting at 7pm on Sundays to catch up.

Following the soap, the National Moment of Reflection will take place at 8pm, with the government inviting the public to observe a minute of silence prior to the Queen’s State Funeral on Monday.

The website of the national government states: ‘The National Moment of Reflection will take place on Sunday 18 September at 8 p.m., the evening before the State Funeral, and will be dominated by one minute of silence.

“The silence can be privately marked at home, with friends and family, on neighbors’ doorsteps or on the street, or at locally organized community events and vigils.”

It follows the news that Coronation Street and Emmerdale also aired additional episodes Thursday night after a massive uproar in the schedule.

Both soaps were removed from their scheduled slots on Friday, with Emmerdale racking up a triple marathon of shows.

The empty space came after ITV announced they were postponing the National Television Awards to October 13, as a mark of respect ahead of the Queen’s funeral.

It was followed by a one-hour episode of Coronation Street, which was originally scheduled to air on Wednesdays.

Emmerdale had previously returned to the screen in an unexpected Sunday night slot, airing the episode set to air on Friday (September 9) before being withdrawn following the Queen’s death.
