Corgi who predicted NBA playoff results with incredible accuracy makes his State of Origin predictions: Here’s how furry Nostradamus thinks the series will play out
The dog who predicted some NBA playoff results with incredible accuracy has made his State of Origin prediction, and that’s good news for those of Blues persuasion.
Social media went into a tailspin earlier this month when a corgi, nicknamed both Steph Furry and Fluffy Mamba, correctly predicted the outcome of the first five games of the Western Conference Semifinals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors.
While at the top of a flight of stairs, the dog knocks over a basketball, with two buckets at the bottom waiting for the ball – one for New South Wales and one for Queensland.
And if his prediction is to be believed, the Blues will wrestle back the shield from the Maroons and win the series 2-1.
The corgi predicted that New South Wales will win the series opener in Adelaide on Wednesday night before taking a series win in Brisbane and Queensland winning a dead rubber in Sydney on July 12.

The dog correctly called the result of the first five games between the Lakers and the Warriors by using the same method.
The corgi correctly predicted that the Lakers would go up 1-0, only for the Warriors to make it to the series level in Game 2.
He then “knew” that the Lakers would take a 2-1, then 3-1 lead, before the Warriors pulled a game back to make it 3-2.
New South Wales last won the shield in 2021, their third win in four years
Queensland claimed the 2022 State of Origin series after beating the Blues 2-1
The corgi then predicted that the Warriors would come back from 3-2 to win the series and keep their title defense alive, but that prediction fell through as the Lakers won Game 6 to wrap up the series.
However, their hopes of winning a 19th NBA title and a first since 2020 evaporated in the Western Conference Finals as they were swept in four games by the Denver Nuggets.
The 2023 State of Origin Series kicks off May 31 in Adelaide and is arguably the most balanced of any in recent memory.
The Maroons hold onto the shield and have triumphed in two of the last three years, but the Blues are desperate to show last season’s defeat was just a blip as they look to win a fourth series in six years under Brad Fittler.
