Cops take action over controversial footy commentator Paul Kent’s wild street fight outside a pub

Police have charged a man who was recently involved in a fight with foot journalist Paul Kent in Sydney’s west.

Footage that went viral on social media on Sunday showed Kent and another man arguing outside the Three Weeds hotel in Rozelle before the altercation turned physical.

Kent has been suspended from his roles at Fox Sports and the Daily Telegraph while his employers investigate the incident.

A 35-year-old man was taken to Newtown police station in the city’s west on Sunday evening and charged with affray after officers launched an investigation when they became aware of the video.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear in court in June.

In the clip, Kent can be heard calling the other man a “dogface” before they reportedly get into a physical altercation that extends across the room.
