Copenhagen player brands Alejandro Garnacho a ‘CLOWN’ for trying to scuff the penalty spot AGAIN during Man United’s 4-3 defeat… two weeks after the Argentine’s same antics were labelled as ‘childish’ by ex-Arsenal star

FC Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro called Alejandro Garnacho ‘a clown’ after the team worked together to stop him from sabotaging the penalty spot again during their dramatic Champions League win over Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Garnacho was criticized when United beat the Danes at Old Trafford two weeks ago after trashing the spot before Andre Onana saved a last-minute penalty from Jordan Larsson.

When Copenhagen had the chance to level the second tie at 2-2 at the end of the first half at Parken Stadium on Wednesday, Kevin Diks and Viktor Claesson ‘grabbed’ Garnacho and warned the young Argentina international not to attempt the match. same trick again before Diogo Goncalves defeated Onana.

Vavro mocked his “child mentality”, telling Bold.dk: “I saw him try to do something about the penalty, but Kevin Diks was in front and blocked.”

‘It’s the second time (Garnacho has done this). And then on our trail? To me he’s a clown.

‘He has the mentality of a child if he tries something like that again. At an away match.

‘One thing is at home in the 97th minute, but here in the first half. I don’t understand why he’s trying to do that.’

Claesson added: “It was after the last game when he stepped on the spot. We grabbed him and told him not to approach the place – and then he shouted something to Diogo, but I didn’t understand what he said.

‘We hadn’t talked about it, but when we got the penalty, Diogo immediately told me to take care of the penalty spot. I did that and Garnacho was on his way.”

United regained the lead when Bruno Fernandes scored from the same spot in the second half, but two late goals from the Danish league leaders earned them a memorable victory and left United’s Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.

Erik ten Hag’s side now have to beat Galatasaray in Istanbul at the end of this month, and possibly also runaway group leaders Bayern Munich – and that may still not be enough if other results go against United.

Garnacho deliberately advanced past the penalty spot during the match at Old Trafford – and Jordan Larsson’s spot-kick was saved by Andre Onana
