The ashes are kept in pendants on which each of his children can arrange custom-made inscriptions.

After the necklaces are sent to Coolio’s loved ones, the rest of the ashes are kept in an urn.

Coolio shared four of his children – Artisha, Brandi, Jackie and Artis – with his ex-wife Josefa Salinas whom he divorced in 2000.

The beloved rapper, whose real name is Artis Ivey Jr. had six more children—Grtis, Milan, Darius, Zhane, and twins Kate and Shayne—by several other women.

Coolio was discovered last month on a friend’s bathroom floor and subsequently pronounced dead of suspected cardiac arrest.

His longtime girlfriend Mimi Ivey, who has been with him since 2012, told DailyMail.com exclusively how she reacted when she heard the news.

“I just remember all the air and life that came out of my body,” she recalls. “I was standing outside getting ready to take my son to soccer practice. All I remember was falling to my knees. I collapsed.’

She revealed that, in accordance with Coolio’s own instructions, he would not have a full funeral and would be cremated.

The guest list for the cremation was so strictly limited that it even froze some friends who had known him for decades.

A source close to Coolio tells DailyMail.com that the measure was taken to prevent a possible outbreak of tension between the mothers of his children.

Mimi, an exotic dancer and chef, revealed that she knew that Coolio was seeing other women and that they had come to an arrangement as a couple.

“We were best friends,” she said. “We talked about everything and joked and laughed about everything. It was never boring to be with him.’
