Horror footage has emerged of a man plummeting from an iconic beachside location after trying to get back by climbing into it.

A NSW police spokesman said the man, 20, was denied entry to the Coogee Pavilion in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on Saturday night.

He then attempted to climb into the pavilion when he fell around 7:00 PM.

Video footage shows the moment when he falls three meters from the climb and hits the ground.

In the video, a police officer comes to his rescue.

“Officers … present for an unrelated matter rendered assistance before he was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics,” a NSW police spokesman said.

“(He suffered a minor injury to his elbow and was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital as a precaution.”

Bystanders reported seeing the man climb a power pole a few stores away.

He then climbed over several canopies on Dolphin Street toward the pavilion.

Others reportedly witnessed police communicating for the man to come down before he fell from another building.

While police have not confirmed whether the man was under the influence of alcohol or other substances at the time of the incident, a spokesperson said it was “important to note that he had been refused entry to the premises.”

Merrivale, the owner of Coogee Pavilion, declined to comment.

The footage comes less than a week after a security guard at the location was filmed pushing a woman and a 13-year-old boy to the ground outside the same location during an unrelated event.

In the footage, the woman repeatedly yelled that the boy was “mentally disabled.”

A spokesman for NSW Police said the security team had reported ‘malicious damage and assault of a security guard’.

“Upon arrival, officers were told that a youth had forced the room, after which he reportedly smashed a glass door and got into an argument with a security guard,” the spokesperson said.
