Controversial influencer Em Davies announces she is quitting her fashion label Venem 1.0 – after celebrating her engagement
Em Davies has announced that her fashion label is on hiatus.
The scandal-prone influencer is quitting Venem 1.0 to focus on a new business venture.
“It is with such mixed feelings that I am announcing that I will be taking a hiatus from @venem1.0 starting September 1 for the foreseeable future,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“Making the choice to retire from a company that is doing well is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make.
“The reality of running a slow label means you get caught up more in the business side and less in the creative space, which is ultimately where I want to be.

“It may not seem like a smart move to outsiders, but my intuition tells me otherwise, and I have to follow that. I know what I want for my future and what I want to do, and it feels exciting to me.’
She further thanked her fans, writing, “The gratitude I feel every day for all of you is the most immense feeling and I couldn’t have done any of this without you.”
Em started the label, with edgy, trendy designs, in 2019.
It comes after the influencer announced her engagement to boyfriend of two years, Joel Gambin.

Joel proposed on a romantic trip to New York in March, and Em, 28, wasted no time sharing the news with her Instagram fans.
The bikini model uploaded a gallery of photos capturing the moment Joel proposed in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood.
‘I am speechless. I love you so much. Someone pinch me !!??!!! What just happened?’ she wrote in the caption.
She also included close-up photos of Joel presenting her with an elegant emerald-cut diamond engagement ring.

Em’s happy news comes after a string of recent controversies.
In August last year, the Perth star landed in hot water after she uploaded an image of a sealed ziplock bag containing a brownie while on her way to the airport to catch a flight to Bali.
“Are we going to regret eating this weed brownie on the way to the airport?” she wrote alongside a “yes” or “no” poll.
The post was deleted a few minutes later, presumably when Davies realized it had been shared with her more than 360,000 followers, rather than her close friends.

Em also raised eyebrows in January 2020 when she shared a prank video of herself on Instagram after a New Year’s Eve party, where she pretended to sniff a white powder with friends.
In the clip, Em was seen lifting a non-illegal substance from a small piece of paper to her nose guided by a small metal spoon.
The influencer was then seen smiling at the camera before saying, “Yeah guys!”

She also got into hot water in early 2021 when she appeared to break Perth’s mandatory lockdown rules during her daily outdoor training session.
In November 2019, she was heavily criticized for publishing a $97 health and fitness advice book despite not having a nutrition degree.
Em, who has a degree in fashion business, claimed that all information was “100 percent based on science.”
