Controversial ex-NFL star Antonio Brown uses vile racial slur to describe Notre Dame player Charles Du

Former NFL player Antonio Brown has come under fire after calling Notre Dame football player Charles Du a “ch**k.”

Du went viral Thursday as the Fighting Irish earned an emotional Sugar Bowl victory over Georgia in the wake of the deadly terror attack in New Orleans.

The cornerback, a walk-on from Beijing who attended high school in California, had his name written in Chinese text on the back of his jersey.

A video of Du was posted by ESPN ahead of Thursday’s game and has been viewed over 2 million times on X at the time of writing.

Former wide receiver Brown reposted the video to his own account and wrote next to it: “Ch**k of the Day”

The 36-year-old, who has a history of controversial antics on social media, added: ‘A legend… got a NIL deal for this boy’

Brown’s post had been viewed nearly 1.5 million times at the time of writing. It drew criticism from a number of supporters, one of whom urged Elon Musk to ban Brown from the social media platform.

‘Stop with those racist comments. The game is international now, but here you still use swear words,” one fan wrote.

“Come on Antonio, that’s like me saying the N-word,” another added.

“Okay, there’s no reason for that. @elonmusk ban this guy,” a third said, while a fourth added: “Racistic much? Idiot.’

The ex-Buccaneers and Steelers player was rather an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and after his resounding election victory over Kamala Harris.

Brown attended a Trump rally and led a voter registration drive at a tailgate party — both in Pittsburgh — before the 78-year-old was ultimately elected president for a second time.

Brown and former Steelers teammate Le’Veon Bell both appeared onstage next to Trump before greeting him on the tarmac when he landed back in Pittsburgh shortly after their old team’s game against the New York Jets.

The seven-time Pro Bowler last appeared on the field in January 2022 — when he took off his pads and jersey and headed to the locker room at MetLife Stadium in the middle of a game against the Jets.

Du, meanwhile, was part of the Notre Dame team that defeated No. 2 seed Georgia 23-10 in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals in New Orleans.

Jayden Harrison had a record-setting kickoff return for a touchdown and Notre Dame’s defense dominated the game at Caesars Superdome.

The quarterfinals were postponed on Wednesday evening due to the terrorist attack that took place in the French Quarter.

Notre Dame, 13-1 after winning its 12th consecutive game, will face No. 6 seed Penn State in a semifinal at the Orange Bowl on Jan. 9 in Miami.
