Controversial Chiefs star Harrison Butker praises Donald Trump’s pick for ambassador to the Vatican

Kansas City Chiefs leader Harrison Butker has expressed his support for Donald Trump’s choice as US ambassador to the Vatican.

The newly elected president recently announced that Brian Burch would serve as U.S. Representative after helping him win the election and “demonstrating exceptional leadership.”

Trump said the father of nine “loves his church and the United States” and would “make us all proud.” His appointment was supported by Butker, who has previously made headlines for his religious views.

“Very happy to hear that @BrianBurchCV has been selected as the next Ambassador to the Vatican,” Butker wrote on social media.

“Brian has been a leading voice in the Catholic community here in America through his organization (CatholicVote) and now in his new role he can bring those gifts to Rome. Please pray for him and his family as they begin this new journey.”

Butker also included a photo of himself next to Burch, apparently at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium.

Earlier this year, Butker was criticized for an “intolerant and misogynistic” speech at Benedictine College.

Butker gave a 20-minute speech at the private Catholic liberal arts college in Kansas, where he said men “must fight against cultural emasculation” and suggested women are “the most enthusiastic” about getting married and having children.

Butker later doubled down on his comments and attended the Chiefs’ reception at the White House despite criticizing Joe Biden on abortion.

The kicker labeled Biden “delusional” and accused him of “supporting the murder of innocent babies” during the Kansas speech.

Trump returns to the Oval Office next month and praised Burch’s role in his victory over Kamala Harris.

“Brian is a devout Catholic, father of nine children and president of CatholicVote. He has received numerous awards and demonstrated exceptional leadership, helping to build one of the largest Catholic advocacy groups in the country,” Trump said.

“He represented me well in the last election because he collected more Catholic votes than any presidential candidate in history! Brian loves his church and the United States. He will make us all proud.”
