Controversial Chiefs star Harrison Butker defends ‘homemaker’ speech ahead of latest Super Bowl outing

Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker is still on his controversial start speech almost a year after the outrage that followed.

Butker, who is preparing for his third consecutive Super Bowl appearance with the Chiefs this weekend in New Orleans, made fierce criticism when he addressed graduates at the Benedictine College of Kansas in May last year.

In addition to condemning the pro-abortion attitude of the then President Joe Biden and the LGBTQ+ community, the NFL star divided the opinion that women should give priority to mothers who stay at home and raise families about chasing their own CARREATS.

A number of fans and controversial figures expressed anger about the comments, with a petition for the chiefs to cut him out of their grid and ultimately receive nearly 250,000 signatures.

Even some of his teammates, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, publicly admitted that they do not share the same views as their outspoken colleague.

But despite the return it caused, Butker says that nine months later he has no regrets of speech.

“God gave me this platform and I am going to say what I believe is true and what I keep close to my heart,” he said on the opening night of Super Bowl Week in New Orleans.

“Everything that comes, I am blessed to be on the leaders and to be in another super bowl.”

While they have taken up his opinions, Butker still received support from people like Kelce and Mahomes, together with head coach Andy Reid from Kansas City.

All three defended the Chiefs Kicker despite the fact that they do not have the same opinions.

‘I knew it [Harrison] For seven years and I judge him on the character that he shows every day. And that’s a good person, “said Mahomes.

“I even know him for quite years,” Kelce emphasized on his new podcast from Heights at the time. “I cherish him as a teammate. I think Pat [Mahomes] Said it the best where he is a great person and a great teammate. ‘

In the meantime, Reid said that the team respected his opinion as he added that he did not believe he was attacking women.

“Many boys had different opinions about it,” Butker continued on Monday evening, “but we all love each other in that dressing room. We all know who we are.

‘All the guys understood where I came from. They respect me. They respect what I have to say. And I have nothing to apologize for. ‘
