Contractor suffers severe burns at Australian Army training base after coming into contact with ‘power lines’

A man has suffered severe burns after being electrocuted at an Australian Army training base.
Paramedics were called to the Australian Army Aviation Training Center in Oakey, northwest of Toowoomba, just after 2pm on Thursday.
The Queensland Ambulance Service reported that a man in his 40s was treated for significant burns to his forearms and face after coming into contact with power lines.

The injured man was a contractor who had been working on a project site at Swartz Barracks (stock image)
He was later airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital by a LifeFlight rescue crew.
Police and firefighters were also called to the scene.
Electricity to the site’s substation was reportedly cut off to make the area safe for emergency services.
A spokesman for the Australian Department of Defense told Daily Mail Australia that the injured man was a contractor who had been working on a project site at Swartz Barracks.
According to a spokesman, the man is currently undergoing a medical examination.
