Construct and manage your own magic school in this simulation game published by Don’t Starve developer Klei

There is currently a public playtest available for it Think beyond magic – a simulation game that allows players to build and manage their own magical school. During the game, players train their students in powerful magic to explore a mysterious and dangerous labyrinth.

If highlighted by PC Gamer, Think beyond magic is developed by Sparkypants Studios and published by Klei Entertainment – the developers of Starve not, Griftlands, And Oxygen not included, among others. The full game currently has no release window, but according to the developers, this current playtest is not a demo, but the same version of the game currently being prepared for early access, so players can get a real taste of what’s to come.

In Think beyond magicplayers can build every facet of their school, with the option to build it from the ground up and freely furnish each room with furniture. They can then set up their class schedule, complete with the teachers they have chosen, for their students.

Students must be brought up to speed on spells and skills to tackle the Underschool, the aforementioned labyrinth full of deadly creatures. ‘Deadly’ is not an understatement: the students can actually be killed in battle, after which you can resuscitate them with dark magic to complete chores. To be honest, I’m not sure which fate is worse there.

Although the playtest started on October 19, the developers stated that they would only let in a small number of people at first. However, as the test progresses, things will open up further. The promotion runs until October 26th, so if you’re interested, make sure you do so request access on Steam and make the most of it while you can.
