Conor McGregor will make his UFC comeback when he takes on Michael Chandler, Dana White has confirmed.

The Notorious has been out of the Octagon since breaking his leg in his last outing against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

There were big questions as to whether McGregor would ever return to the sport, but it looks like he’ll return later this year against Chandler.

Prior to their fight, the pair will coach season 32 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter, a tag team knockout tournament for young fighters that will take place from May 30 to August 15.

In a special announcement made on Saturday, White said: “We have just confirmed the coaches for season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will go head-to-head as coaches of The Ultimate Fighter.

‘Team McGregor vs. Team Chandler. This season premieres on Tuesday, May 30 and runs through Tuesday, August 15 on ESPN and ESPN+.

Then at the end of the season, Mcgregor and Chandler will fight live on ESPN+ PPV and I don’t have a date or location for that, but we’ll announce it soon.

American Chandler has often called for a fight with McGregor for over a year and now he’s ready to get his wish.

Like McGregor, the 36-year-old is coming off a loss after being defeated by Poirier at UFC 281 last November.

Chandler’s record in the UFC is 2-3 after fighting top opponents like Poirer, Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje.

Following the announcement, Chandler wrote on Instagram: “Excited is an understatement… See you at the top!
