Conor Mcgregor RIPS into ‘woeful’ and ’embarrassing’ current UFC champion – as he urges Dana White to set up a title showdown despite not having fought in over three years

  • The Notorious was set to make his long-awaited return in June before suffering a toe injury
  • He has his sights set on winning a world title and has defeated the current champion

Conor McGregor has slammed a current UFC champion and urged Dana White to stage a title showdown despite his long absence from the Octagon.

McGregor last fought in July 2021, losing to Dustin Poirier in his trilogy fight at UFC 264 and suffering a broken leg.

His long-awaited comeback against Michael Chandler in June was thwarted after he broke a toe in his left foot during training.

There had been hopes that McGregor’s fight with Chandler could be rescheduled for later this year. But UFC CEO White has since stated that ‘Notorious’ won’t return to action until 2025.

The Irishman is keen to continue fighting the American, but has now set his sights on the welterweight title currently held by Belal Muhammad.

Mohammed defeated Leon Edwards in Manchester in July to claim the title after winning by unanimous decision.

However, McGregor did not hold back in his assessment of the champion, claiming he was ‘woful’ as he improved his record.

The 36-year-old said during an appearance on a Kick stream for Duelbits: ‘He’s pitiful.

‘I want to fight him. Okay, Chandler is matched, let’s put the Belal-McGregor UFC welterweight world title on the line.

“I have multiple knockouts at 170 pounds, I’m a force to be reckoned with at 170 pounds.

“I’m doing damage at welterweight, check the stats. I did them with 100 percent accuracy, this guy hasn’t even had a knockdown in UFC history.

“Not a single defeat, it’s embarrassing, to be honest. I rolled the person quite slowly, because I just don’t have abs.

“They’re all bums in that thing. You’re not interested, come to me, but for the belt? Yes, next, yes please. “Put it on Dana and the boys.”

McGregor intensified his preparations for his comeback and shared images of his first sparring session in recent weeks.
