‘Legal costs are high, but that’s what we do’: Conor McGregor savors Paradigm Sports win over Manny Pacquiao, with his management company owed £6.3 million for breach of contract and court costs by the legendary boxer

Conor McGregor is delighted that his management company Paradigm Sports has won a high-profile lawsuit against legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao.
The Irishman, the most famous athlete on the Paradigm Sports books, took to social media after the company successfully filed a lawsuit in California for breach of contract.
In total, Pacquiao owes $8 million (£6.3 million), with £4 million in damages, £1.7 million in legal costs and additional annual interest of 10 per cent on the judgment amount over three years.
McGregor took to social media and responded to a tweet of the news, writing, “And don’t let it happen again, @MannyPacquiao.”
And in a now-deleted tweet, the Dubliner also wrote, “Manny owes a total of 8. 5.1 he owes and then 2.1 court costs. Legal costs are heavy, but that’s what we do. Heavy operations.

Another now-deleted tweet from McGregor outlined the full extent of Paradigm Sports’ cost win against Pacquiao
“Rartem, you already owe me two rounds of court costs awarded by the judge. Judgment will be passed on your house because this…” and the tweet cuts off.
The Orange County jury voted 9-3 for Paradigm in the case.
“We are delighted with the jury’s verdict in favor of Paradigm in our lawsuit against Manny Pacquiao,” Paradigm CEO Audie Attar said in a statement.
“The jury clearly found that Pacquiao testified falsely in denying Paradigm’s allegations against him, and his apology for his behavior proves our contention that there was a breach of contract.
“We appreciate the court’s time and the jury’s careful attention to the facts of this case.
“Hopefully Manny has learned from the verdict and will act with the honesty and integrity so lacking in his treatment of Paradigm.”
Paradigm signed Pacquiao as a client in 2020 and McGregor tweeted that they were trying to arrange a fight between the legendary Filipino boxer and Mikey Garcia.

The fight was then dropped, reportedly due to interference from Pacquiao’s other representatives and he teamed up with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions instead.
It led to Paradigm filing the lawsuit, which 44-year-old Pacquiao lost, and the jury ruled that he had acted in bad faith.
For a while, it looked like McGregor himself might fight Pacquiao in a huge crossover fight similar to the one he lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
That never happened and Pacquiao has now retired from professional boxing and juggles his work in politics as a senator with lucrative exhibition matches.
