Conor McGregor took to social media after José Aldo issued an x-rated response to his challenge for a rematch inside the ring.

Since retiring from MMA following a loss to Merab Dvalishvili last year, Aldo has returned to his first love and embarked on a professional boxing career.

Following a decision win over Emmanuel Zambrano in his February debut, Aldo returned to the ring to take on former UFC opponent Jeremy Stephens inside the boxing ring as part of Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing 4.

In response to the event, McGregor tweeted, “Me and Aldo should box,” prompting Masvidal to respond by offering to “make it happen.”

Aldo would ultimately fight to a draw with Stephens on Saturday, and the former UFC featherweight champion would embark on an x-rated tirade towards the Irishman during the post-fight press conference.

Conor McGregor took to social media to suggest a rematch between himself and José Aldo in boxing.

McGregor defeated Aldo in just 13 seconds in the main event of UFC 194 in 2015

“Conor (has a) big mouth,” Aldo told reporters in response to McGregor’s tweet. ‘He always talks a lot of shit. He has a fight scheduled. … Conor, he shut your fucking mouth. We were supposed to fight earlier in the UFC. You run, and now you keep talking stupid.’

Aldo has long maintained that McGregor avoided a rematch of their 2015 matchup at UFC 194, where McGregor defeated the Brazilian in just 13 seconds to secure his first undisputed title with the promotion.

A rematch had been on the cards the following year, but McGregor ultimately opted to move up in weight, splitting a pair of fights with Nate Diaz before defeating Eddie Alvarez to capture the lightweight crown and become the world’s first two-weight. UFC Simultaneous champion.

After Aldo responded to McGregor’s call with an x-rated rant, the Irishman mockingly responded on Twitter.

McGregor also called out Jeremy Stephens while referencing his iconic firing of the American.

Responding to the usually suave Brazilian’s outburst, McGregor mockingly responded on Twitter: “Okay ok so ahaha whatever lad I was just trying to be nice.” Who fucked up in your acai?

After his response to Aldo, McGregor turned his attention to Stephens, writing, “Me and who the hell is that guy that should box.”

McGregor’s tweet referenced the iconic line he directed at Stephens when the pair shared the stage during the UFC 205 press conference in 2016.
