Conor McGregor could return to The Ultimate Fighter as a coach after revealing that the UFC has once again offered him the position.
The Notorious has previously been on the show, coaching his team for success in 2015 against fellow fighter, Urijah Faber.
Now, McGregor has revealed on Instagram that he’s open to the idea, while reminiscing about his achievements in the Octagon simultaneously, perhaps hinting at a strong return to the screen in and out of the arena.
Conor McGregor revealed Thursday that he was offered to return to The Ultimate Fighter
‘This is a snapshot of the original Ultimate Fighter house. Where I trained against Urijah Faber,” McGregor wrote on his Instagram.
‘This photo was right before the show though. It was right before I won my first world title beating my Urijah teammate Chad Mendes.
‘Then I went on to train the famous fight show right after the fight. With a huge black eye and gash, my tricolor and my new and first UFC gold belt, I walked into the notorious fight gym in Las Vegas.
‘The wittiest costumes and screams the show has ever seen. Above the cutlery. And I coached my team to victory. Crazy. Some trip. I just got offered to retrain this role.
McGregor coached on the TV series in 2015 and led his team to victory over Urijah Faber.
‘I like. What is needed is total immersion. I see wrestlers lining up. I know what’s coming, I’ve been ready, motherfuckers. #StayReady.’
UFC president Dana White seemed all but to confirm the legitimacy, even potentially the return of McGregor, by sharing the post to his story.
McGregor has not returned to the UFC since breaking his leg in a July 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier.
The timetable for McGregor’s return to the Octagon is still largely unknown. Although when he does, Michael Chandler will be waiting for the Irishman.
