Conor McGregor delivers two-word response to Ilia Topuria’s incredible knockout of Max Holloway – after Irish MMA star loses $500k bet on UFC 308

  • Khamzat Chimaev defeated Robert Whittaker with a first-round submission
  • Max Holloway was later eliminated by Ilia Topuria in their title match
  • Conor McGregor had bet $500,000 on Whittaker and Holloway winning by KO

Conor McGregor has responded after the UFC legend suffered a stunning $500,000 (£385,000) loss betting on UFC 308.

The former two-weight champion claimed he bet half a million on Max Holloway and Robert Whittaker to earn knockout victories on Saturday night, but both selections lost.

Khamzat Chimaev defeated Whittaker with a first-round submission before Holloway missed out on his featherweight title when he was knocked out by Ilia Topuria.

Just moments after Topuria defeated Holloway, McGregor responded via social media in two words.

“Call me,” tweeted McGregor, who previously won the featherweight title in 2015.

McGregor and Topuria have feuded in the past and it appears the Irishman is keen to take on the current king of his former division.

In his last two fights, Topuria has defeated two of the four men often mentioned in debates about MMA’s greatest ever featherweights.

The other two also remain in the UFC.

Jose Aldo is now trading at 135 pounds and is unlikely to get a shot at gold after his defeat to Mario Bautista earlier this month.

But McGregor seems interested in a fight that many fans would love to see.
