Former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor is confident Spain will beat England in the final of the 2024 European Championships on Sunday.
The Irishman is so confident that Gareth Southgate’s men will come up short against La Roja that he has placed two bets on the match.
According to the man himself, McGregor has placed €100,000 (£86,000) on the correct score (3-1 to Spain), and even more on the chance of Spain winning by whatever score.
If both bets win, McGregor, who turns 36 on Sunday, could pocket €3.7 million (£3.18 million), including his original stake.
McGregor, who is a brand ambassador for betting site Duelbits, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday to promote his bets.
England will face Spain in the final of UEFA Euro 2024 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday.
Conor McGregor has confidently predicted that Spain will win by a three-to-one margin.
He posted two tweets in total, after the first contained an error.
McGregor’s first tweet read: ‘Hey guys, Spain win 3-1 tomorrow. I put €100k on the great odds of 19/1.
‘This result will earn me €2m cash, plus the €1.1m I’ll collect if they win! €3.1m all in! The competition is on my birthday! Tomorrow! Good luck and YOU’RE WELCOME!’
Twelve minutes later, McGregor added: ‘My bad boys, @Duelbits just called me! They’ve got the best odds ever!
‘The odds of that score coming in “3-1 Spain” are not 19/1, but 25-1!!!’
‘This means my €100k will be worth €2.6m! Lovely jubbly €3.7m all in tomorrow for my birthday! THE RICH GET RICHER, BE EXCITED!’
