‘It’s a good job you didn’t fight me’: Conor Benn punches rival Chris Eubank Jr after shock stoppage of Liam Smith, claims he won’t ‘last two rounds with me’ if their matchup is rescheduled
Conor Benn wasted no time before taunting Chris Eubank Jr for his knockout loss at the hands of Liam Smith on Saturday.
Smith won by technical knockout in the fourth round of their meeting in Manchester on Saturday night, in a bitter British grudge match overshadowed by Smith’s homophobic comments in the build-up.
Benn and Eubank Jr were due to meet at a catch weight of 157 pounds in October 2022, but the fight was postponed after the 26-year-old tested positive for clomiphene.
Conor Benn’s (right) failed drug tests led to his fight with Chris Eubank Jr. being cancelled.
Now, after Eubank Jr’s loss to Smith, Benn said Chris Eubank’s 33-year-old son should be thankful the proposed meeting didn’t take place in the fall.
Benn tweeted: ‘Oh man @ChrisEubankJr that’s a good job not fighting me. You would last two rounds in 160.’
In the tweet, he shared a video asking Eubank Jr to stop boxing to avoid “getting hurt any more,” which Benn laughed off.

On Instagram, Benn posted a set of laughing emojis to his stories, as well as reaching out to his father, former two-division world boxing champion Nigel Benn punching the air after watching Smith win.
There is a rematch clause in Eubank Jr’s contract with Smith, should he choose to take that option, although being stopped in the early stages of their first fight suggests it might not be the wise move.
It is not known what Benn’s next plan of action is after his positive test for clomiphene meant his October fight was postponed by the British Boxing Board of Control.
