Conman Peter Foster claims unlikely love rivalry with Robbie Williams over Danish beauty in the ’90s

Notorious Australian con man Peter Foster has made a wild claim about an alleged love triangle with pop megastar Robbie Williams.

Foster, who is on trial for fraud on charges of running a $2 billion bitcoin scam, told the juicy story this week about how he fell hard for Danish heiress Caroline Luel-Brockdorff during his infamous stint in London in the 1920s. 90.

Coincidentally, he claims, Williams did the same with the singer the gorgeous blonde met during a photo shoot in the weeks following his decision to quit boy band Take That.

The battle for Caroline’s heart was also just a few months before Foster was incarcerated for fraud for the role he played in a “slimming tea” scandal – a sentence he ran short after disappearing on the day of jail and with a false passport was flown back to Australia. .

Foster, who is due to appear in court again on October 26 on charges of Bitcoin fraud, says the memory of the two unlikely love rivals who dueled for the same woman flooded as he watched Williams perform at the AFL Grand Final.

“When I saw Robbie Williams today rocking the MCG as pre-game entertainment for the AFL final, I couldn’t help but be dragged through my memory to 1996, when Robbie Williams and I competed for the affection of a rare beauty,” Foster began a lengthy post to his Facebook followers.

Baroness Caroline Luel-Brockdorff was just 23 years old, blond, a beautiful young woman and one of Europe’s richest socialites and a member of the Danish royal family.

‘She grew up in Valdemar’s Castle, but when we met she was living in London where she modeled with great success, her face graced the covers of the world’s major fashion magazines, Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Cosmopolitan… she was everywhere .’

Foster then revealed that over dinner at London’s famed The Ritz, Juel-Brockdorff told him she’d mated Williams – fresh off his success with Take That.

“We dined at the best clubs and restaurants, Le Ambassadors and the Ritz, two of our favorites,” Foster said.

“One night when I introduced her to my visiting Australian lawyer Jeremy Cullen at the Ritz, she said she had a modeling assignment that day and had met Robbie Williams, who had asked her out.

“Robbie was just 22, I was 33. He’d just left Take That.

“Robbie, damn Williams,” I said in horror. “He’s all washed up, he just left Take That and went solo, he’s been a has been, worse than he’s never been – he can’t even be arrested, he’s such a nobody now.”

‘I was right. He could not be arrested. But I could – in six countries.’

As fate would have it, Foster would later be jailed in both Los Angeles and England for his tea scam, and again in Australia and again, a second time, in England after failing to fight rendition.

He never captured the heart of his Danish crush, and neither does Williams, it seems.

Juel-Brockdorff eventually married Rory Fleming – the son of Ian Fleming who created the James Bond series.

A divorce followed, however, and the Danish aristocrat went on to marry Arsenal footballer Nicklas Bendtner, with the couple welcoming a son in 2010.

She would also appear in the American reality series Ladies of London in 2015.

Foster had the most famous relationship with British pop singer and pin-up Samantha Fox during the late 80s and early 90s – an affair that made headlines both here and in the UK before splitting up in 1994.

Today, Foster is back home on the Gold Coast after a long stint on the run that came to a halt in 2020 when he was arrested by police while walking his dogs on a beach in Port Douglas.

He was released on bail in NSW in March 2021, but was declared a fugitive after failing to appear in a Sydney court in May over the bitcoin fraud charges.

After six months of freedom, Foster was arrested a second time in December 2021 at a Victorian winery near Gisborne.

The 59-year-old was extradited to Queensland, where he was charged with five counts of fraud, two counts of obtaining or dealing with identification information and one count of falsifying data.

He is scheduled for his next hearing on October 26, but has since been released on bail and is sharing anecdotes with Facebook friends as he writes his memoir.

He revealed this week that he is still holding a candle for Juel-Brockdorff, who goes by her original married name Caroline Fleming.

“I think from time to time about (Fleming) and what would have happened if I hadn’t been arrested on trumped-up charges that were eventually dropped,” he wrote.

“As for poor Robbie Williams, he has to work on Saturdays to sing to a bunch of football fans.”
