Australian swimming legend Grant Hackett has welcomed his second child with wife Sharlene.

He announced the joyful news via Instagram on Sunday, uploading two photos of his newborn daughter along with a caption revealing her name, Olympia.

Our little angel. Olympia Grace Hackett (Oly) was born on August 4, 2023 at 1:43 PM weighing 3,555 kg,” he wrote.

Grant and Sharlene surprised fans when they announced they tied the knot in a secret, intimate ceremony in Melbourne in December 2020.

In a gushing tribute to his bride, Grant said he couldn’t wait any longer to get married — even though the pandemic meant the wedding was smaller than the couple had hoped.

He wrote at length, “I feel so blessed to be able to call you my beautiful wife @sharhackett. With a year full of uncertainty it was such a perfect way to end 2020.

The former athlete paid tribute to the couple’s son, Edward Anthony Hackett.

“Thank you to Jagger Hackett for being the most wonderful ring bearer and witness,” Grant wrote.
