There were delays on the T1 North Shore and Western Line and bus services were also affected.

The disruption also affected train services on the T2 Inner West and Leppington Lines, as well as the T3 Bankstown, T8 Airport and T9 Northern Lines.

Passengers were also warned that there may be delays to trains to the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast and Newcastle.

Service was back up and running within an hour, but there was a police operation going on at the station.

Commuters have been warned that the incident could cause disruption to Sydney’s train network.

Transport for NSW urged passengers to plan their journeys in advance due to the lengthy delays.
