Commanders star Brian Robinson’s 15-year-old shooter pleads guilty to wounding a jogger in a botched robbery in August AND killing a teenager in a separate incident weeks later

A teenager has pleaded guilty to shooting Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson in August and killing a 15-year-old boy in the nation’s capital in the weeks that followed.

The shooter has not been publicly identified, but he admitted in court that he and a 17-year-old friend tried to steal Robinson’s car on August 28. However, the 23-year-old from Alabama struggled with the 17-year-old. , prompting the shooter, who was only 14 at the time, to fire two shots, hitting Robinson in the knee and hip.

Fortunately, Robinson suffered only minor injuries and was back in action weeks later.

“He was trying to get the man’s Hellcat,” the 15-year-old shooter told authorities, referring to Robinson’s muscle car. He wasn’t thinking. It was wrong.’

Since the Robinson shooting, a 15-year-old named Andre Robertson has been fatally shot on a relative’s porch. The Robinson shooter also pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in that case, the Washington Post reports.

The 15-year-old shooter remains at the Department of Juvenile Rehabilitation Services awaiting his sentencing on March 8.

Robinson was in the middle of his first NFL training camp when the two teens approached him on Aug. 28. The 15-year-old shooter and another teenager grabbed Robinson and tried to take his wallet, as well as the keys to his Dodge sports car. Robinson tried to run away, but was caught by the older teen, who began fighting with the NFL player.

Robinson, 23, successfully wrested the 17-year-old’s gun, but was then shot by the younger, according to police.

Robinson returned to action on October 9, rushing for 22 yards on nine carries in his first NFL game. Since then, he’s put together a solid rookie season, gaining 797 yards on 205 carries. He also had nine receptions for 60 yards.
