Comic Relief: 90s band B*Witched’s fans ecstatic at performance

Comic Relief viewers went wild for ’90s girl band B*witched as they performed at the Red Nose Day fundraiser on Friday.

The Irish pop group, made up of twin sisters Edele, 43, and Keavy Lynch, 43, Lindsay Armaou, 44, and Sinéad O’Carroll, 49, were among the musical acts performing at the event television charity this year.

They were seen performing with dancers dressed in green four-leaf clover and Guinness beer outfits today, which was St Patrick’s Day, the traditional date of death for St Patrick, Ireland’s main patron saint.

Girl group B*witched left fans delighted when they appeared on screen, with some claiming they were ‘screaming’ and dancing around their living rooms.

Others noted that they looked as young as when they first rose to fame in 1998, while other devotees commented on their talent for dancing in high heels.

‘You don’t even look 25! I’m serious. Oh really.’

Continuing, the TV host asked B*witched: ‘But what are the highlights? What have been your best moments?

Edele replied: ‘The highlight of 25 years? I think you have to be doing your own tour. Doing our own tour, you build the stage and write everything.

The band also confessed that they believe they have been together for 25 years because ‘unlike other bands’ they came together themselves, rather than being handpicked by a management team.

B*witched have been friends since their teens and plan to celebrate the anniversary with a soon-to-be-announced tour.

In 2001, while the third album was being prepared, the girls received a phone call from their manager telling them that their record label had dropped them.

A year later, with no record deal in sight, Sinead left the band and The group officially broke up a year later before reuniting in 2012 for the ITV2 reality show The Big Reunion, and performing together ever since.
