Comedian Joel Creasey launches his new stand-up special

A new comedy show starring Joel Creasey called Queen of the Outback premiered on Prime Video on February 17.

And the 32-year-old comedian and radio star Nova celebrated the launch of his hour-long special with a live performance in Sydney on Thursday.

Joel took the stage to introduce a screening of the special to a star-studded crowd at the 2023 World Pride Mardi Gras Film Festival Reports tv black box.

Queen of the Outback was made at Broken Hill in the far west of New South Wales last year during the famous Broken Heel festival before a live audience.

Guests on the red carpet for the screening included influencer Christian Wilkins, Australian Idol favorite Ricki-Lee Coulter and former Australia’s Got Talent star Jack Vidgen.

Also enjoying the action were MasterChef star Khanh Ong, radio host Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small and pop star Jaguar Jonze.

Shot under the stars in an indoor open-air theater, Queen of the Outback has Joel wowing the audience with his cheeky stand-up humor in an all-new routine.

“I’m like the Cameron Diaz of stand-up comedy,” Joel says in a preview of the show.

“I’m not going to win any awards, but we’re going to have a good time.”

The Broken Heel festival celebrates the anniversary of the much-loved Australian blockbuster film, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, as a three-day drag event.

Starring Guy Pearce, Hugo Weaving and Terrence Stamp, TAPQOD centers on a trio of drag queens and their misadventures in the Australian outback.

Joel’s special was filmed right next to Broken Hill’s Palace Hotel, which was featured prominently in the Priscilla movie.
