Comedian Celeste Barber launches her own affordable makeup brand after representing MCoBeauty

Celeste Barber is known for her skits and funny Instagram posts that make fun of celebrities.

But the Australian comedienne has entered the beauty world, launching her own affordable makeup brand this month, What a beauty.

Since its launch it has proven to be a success, with some items already sold out on the brand’s website.

Among the deals are the Where The Hell Is My…? Nourished Lip Stick in three shades for $28 each.

Also on sale is the Bam! Bam! Bam! Lip, Cheek and Eye Tint in two shades for just $22.

There’s also the popular You’re Welcome Mascara Tubular Mascara for $31, but that’s sold out.

Celeste has a strong reputation when it comes to selling cosmetics.

In 2021, she sent makeup lovers on a mission to buy a beauty tool she said was the best she’d ever tried.

Celeste was the face of Australian cosmetics line MCoBeauty at the time, promoting her favourite products, including a mascara from the brand.

“Honestly, I’m the last person who should be giving beauty advice, so I won’t,” she said at the time.

“All I can say is that I am completely obsessed with the products. The XtendLash tubular mascara is the best I have ever tried.”

The $28 mascara promises maximum length, curl and volume without flaking or smudging. It’s a budget-friendly knockoff of Kevyn Aucoin’s The Volume Mascara, a cult favorite that retails for $53 at beauty retailers like Sephora.

Some have noticed the similarities between Booie Beauty’s You’re Welcome Mascara Tubular Mascara and the MCoBeauty XtendLash tubular mascara that Celeste previously promoted.

But Shelley Sullivan, the founder of MCoBeauty, is undeterred and wishes Celeste the very best.

“More power to Celeste. I’m always here to support other women in business,” the beauty mogul told the Herald Sun.

The brand is known for its affordable knockoffs of higher-end products, including the $45 Kevyn Aucoin mascara and the $42 Shape Tape Concealer from Tarte Cosmetics.
