Comedian Celeste Barber reveals the wildest stunt she pulled on the set of her new Netflix comedy Wellmania: “I got hurt and everything!”
Celeste Barber has revealed that she did her own stunts in her new Netflix comedy Wellmania.
Appearing on The Project on Monday night, the The Australian comedian said she was left bruised after learning aerial silks.
“The most complete one I had to do was silks in a gym scene, you know, those amazing acrobatic silks where you spin around,” he told hosts Waleed Aly and Sarah Harris.
“I had to go to stunt rehearsals for three days,” added the 40-year-old.
A type of acrobatic performance, aerial silkers must perform tricks in the air while holding on to one or two pieces of cloth hanging from a ceiling.

Notoriously strenuous, gymnasts often take silks to improve their strength and flexibility.
Despite her difficulty, Barber revealed that her husband, Api Robin, had a less than impressed response with her new ability.
“I saw it with my husband and I was like, ‘I did all my own stunts,’ and he was like, ‘When did that happen?’
“I was like ‘that part where I fell, three days of rehearsal to do it’.” I’ve bruised and all!
Despite starring on the show, Barber said she only participated in one of the show’s wellness trends in real life because she “had to.”

“I had to have a colonic,” he said. “I actually had emergency open heart surgery when I was 25 and my body just freaked out afterwards and I had to go get a colon done to do the things that colonics do.”
In a colon or colon cleanse, large amounts of water are expelled through the colon by inserting a tube into the rectum.
Colon cleansing advocates believe that they remove toxins from your gastrointestinal tract; however, there has been little scientific evidence to support these claims.
Barber told Sarah Harris that although it was a “horrible” procedure that he would “never do again”, there were some benefits.
‘I have to say, you feel like you’re walking on clouds, it feels amazing. But it’s three whole weeks where you can’t eat this and you can’t do that.
“And that’s the thing about the wellness industry, it’s so crowded, if you’re doing it to do everything, it’s a whole lifestyle.”
