Indianapolis Colts tight end Drew Ogletree has been placed on the commissioner's exempt list following his arrest on several domestic violence charges earlier this week.

On Friday, the Colts issued a statement attributed to the NFL saying Ogletree “will not be allowed to practice or attend games while listed.” The franchise also described the allegations involving the 25-year-old Ogletree as “disturbing.”

“The team takes these matters seriously,” the statement said. “We have notified the NFL and are in the process of gathering more information.”

Ogletree was charged with two Level 6 felonies: one count of domestic assault committed in the physical presence of a child under 16 years old and one count of domestic assault causing moderate bodily harm, Indiana court records show. Both are felonies, carrying a maximum penalty of two and a half years in prison, with a fine of up to $10,000.

Ogletree is accused in an affidavit of body slamming a woman Tuesday in Hendricks County after she looked at his phone and discovered he was cheating on her, The Indianapolis Star reported. She told officers that Ogletree then stood over her and said, “They'll never believe you.”

Accounts from both the woman and Ogletree indicate that she tried to “hit” him, but did not. The woman was on the phone with her sister, who called police, when the incident happened.

The victim told police Ogletree body-slammed her to the ground. Ogletree told officers he pushed her to the ground, the affidavit said.

Avon Police Department officers found the woman in pain and unable to move, the affidavit states. She was taken to a hospital to have her injuries examined.

Ogletree (R) has nine catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns for the 8-7 Colts this year

Ogletree was held without bond Saturday in the Hendricks County Jail pending a hearing on Tuesday, Deputy Mark Grace said. The court also issued a restraining order.

Ogletree was the Colts' sixth-round pick out of Youngstown State in the 2022 draft.

He has nine catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns this season for the 8-7 Colts, who are in the hunt for a playoff spot.

The team will play at home against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
