Colorado dentist James Craig – accused of poisoning wife to death – is hit with NEW charges of tampering with evidence

The brother of the Colorado mother of six who was allegedly poisoned by her dentist husband, James Craig, has opened up about the “void” she left in the family and spoken out against what he describes as Craig’s “monstrous deeds’.

Mark Pray, 55, spoke exclusively to DailyMail.com as it emerged that Craig is facing new charges from prosecutors in Aurora, who last week filed an additional felony charge of solicitation to tamper with physical evidence.

It’s been just over a year since Craig, 46, was charged with first-degree murder in the March 18, 2023, death of his wife Angela.

Now prosecutors allege that during two weeks of his time in jail following his arrest the next day, Craig tried to persuade one of his daughters to help gather key evidence in the case against him.

Pray told DailyMail.com he wanted to thank Aurora detectives and the district attorney’s office for their “unwavering dedication in seeking justice” for the “senseless murder of his beloved sister.”

“Her killer’s horrific actions have left a void in the lives of her children, our family, her countless friends and the world, depriving us of Angie’s love and light,” he said.

According to Pray, “this cowardly act, driven by self-righteousness, is a stark reminder of the depths of human depravity.

“The recent revelation of evidence tampering serves as damning evidence not only of his culpability in orchestrating Angie’s torment and demise, but also of his utter disregard for the well-being of those around him, including his own children.”

Bid continued: “He manipulates and exploits everything and everyone to avoid responsibility for his monstrous actions. However, his reckoning is inevitable. Whether in this life or the next, justice will prevail and he will face the consequences of his actions.”

It was Pray who accompanied his sister to the hospital on the morning of March 15, concerned about the severe headaches and dizziness she was experiencing.

Within two hours of her admission to University Hospital that day, she suffered a devastating seizure and began to deteriorate rapidly, for which medical staff could find no cause.

Finally, with Angela on a ventilator, intubated and in intensive care, medics told the family to prepare for the worst.

Three days later, on March 18, 2023, she was declared brain dead. She was 43 years old.

In the days following her death, a deeply disturbing picture emerged of the life of the devoted wife of 23 years and mother who committed herself to her marriage despite doubts and despite her husband’s numerous infidelities, self-confessed porn addiction and a worrying gambling habit that ran beside him, ‘driving his company into the ground.’

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that Craig’s latest mistress was 50-year-old orthodontist Karin Cain from Marble Falls, Texas. She flew to be by his side while his wife lay dying in the hospital, but has since claimed to know nothing about Craig’s supposed plan to start a new life with her.

Meanwhile, the 52-page probable cause document filed in Arapahoe District Court detailed the allegedly calculated and “heinous” plot, which saw Craig research and purchase poison online and then deliver it to his unsuspecting wife via potassium cyanide-laced protein shakes.

Angela and Craig began discussing her strange symptoms via text message on March 6, just a day after she returned from a short trip to visit her sister in Utah, where she was perfectly healthy.

As Angela deteriorated in the hospital, Craig flew from Texas with his mistress, rushing from his wife’s hospital bed to her as he told Angela how much he “wished he could stay longer.”

It’s a reality that has shocked everyone who thought they knew Craig and bought into the carefully crafted image of a perfect family he presented.

Living in a luxury development with parks, a nature reserve and playgrounds, the Craigs were a family that seemed to have it all.

But the probable cause affidavit states that Craig drugged Angela behind closed doors five or six years ago, in an incident that he tried to explain away by claiming he was planning to kill himself and didn’t want her stopped him.

Meanwhile, his wife struggled to stay in a marriage torn apart by his repeated affairs, serious financial problems and addictions.

Chelsea Norton, 35, who worked for Craig at his dental practice in Sumberbrook, where Angela also worked, told DailyMail.com: ‘We are all just in shock. He was a really good guy, like the least likely person for all of this.

“They were the kindest, sweetest family, with such adorable children. I looked back at my memories to see if I missed anything that made sense [that would explain this] not at all. But there is nothing.

“He gave motivational speeches and provided food for the staff some afternoons.”

As his wife deteriorated in the hospital and dealt with baffled doctors, Craig also flew his mistress in from Texas, simultaneously texting his wife to say he

But according to charging documents, it was in this office — in a darkened exam room — that Craig researched and purchased poison online. And he had a package containing potassium cyanide delivered to this address on March 13.

It turned out that a previous delivery of arsenic had been made to his home on March 4.

The later delivery raised concerns when an employee who had not been given the message not to open what Craig described as a ‘personal package’ opened it and could not think of a medical reason for the purchase.

She Googled the chemical, labeled it a biohazard, and realized how closely the symptoms of cyanide poisoning matched Angela’s.

It was Craig’s business partner who reported the concerns to a nurse at University Hospital. The nurse in turn informed police and initiated the investigation that led to Craig’s arrest and indictment.

Craig’s trial is expected to take place in August.
