The president of the Colombian national football team was arrested on Sunday during the Copa America final.
Ramon Jesurun is accused of three counts of assault on a specific official or employee.
Jesurun and his son, Ramon Jamil Jesurun, are accused of fighting with security guards around 12:20 a.m. Monday near a tunnel where media had gathered.
According to a Miami-Dade police arrest report obtained by WPLGthe pair became ‘furious’ with a security guard and started ‘yelling at him.’
The incident with the Jesuruns reportedly turned physical when a guard asked the men, who were “yelling in his face,” to step back and placed a palm on Ramon Jesurun’s chest.

According to police, the elder Jesurun then pushed the guard, after which his son grabbed the guard by the neck and punched him.
The 71-year-old Jesurun was admitted to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at around 4:15 a.m. Monday morning, hours after Colombia was defeated 1-0 by Argentina in the final.
The arrests came during an extremely chaotic and dangerous night in Miami, when thousands of ticketless fans stormed into the stadium, nearly crushing some supporters to death.
In total, according to a press release from the Miami-Dade Police Department27 people were arrested and 55 people were removed from the match because of the insanity.
Univision estimated that Hard Rock Stadium was overcrowded by 7,000 for the Argentina-Colombia game. Fans filled the stadium and initially filled the aisles, but some were removed.
The match, which was scheduled to start at 8pm local time, was also delayed by more than 80 minutes.
The Hard Rock Stadium is expected to host seven matches during the 2026 World Cup.
It is notable that the Copa America is organised by the South American Football Federation CONMEBOL, while the World Cup is organised by FIFA.
Fox Sports Mexico has published video of what appears to be the incident on their Instagram page, which shows a man in a gray shirt, just like the younger Jesurun in the photo.
Both men were due to appear in Miami-Dade court on Monday.
