Collingwood star Taylor Adams announces engagement to longtime girlfriend Ellie Thornycroft

Collingwood star Taylor Adams is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, pediatric speech pathologist Ellie Thornycroft.

The 29-year-old midfielder proposed to his beautiful fiancé in Daylesford, in rural Victoria, this weekend, reports the Announce sun.

The couple have been dating since 2017 and she regularly accompanies him to red carpet events, including the Brownlow Medal.

The couple is currently working on their first home renovation together.

Taylor and Ellie have yet to post updates on their social media channels.

In September 2022, Adams repaid a young girl who helped ease his pain by holding his hand and hugging him outside the MCG after suffering a season-ending injury during his team’s loss to Geelong.

Adams missed the Magpies’ pursuit of the flag due to a nasty groin hernia that left him sore during the six-point loss.

The champion athlete was carried away against the Cats in the fourth quarter and was visibly upset as he left the ground – until he bumped into a young supporter named Isabella and her father.

“After today’s game, as we were walking back to the AIA center, a young girl and her father saw me lying flat,” he wrote on Twitter.

“She came up to me and offered to hold my hand as I crossed Swan Street, then gave me a tight hug. I’d like to find them.’

Thanks to social media, Adams got his wish, contacted the family and took them on a tour of the team facility.

Isabella then presented Adams with a bear and a friendly note as he showed her around Collingwood’s gym, kitchen and training ground.

Social media users were quick to praise Adams for his generous act.
