Collingwood star Jack Crisp’s wife Mikayla breaks her silence after shocking leaked videos: ‘No marriage is perfect’

Jack Crisp’s wife says her relationship with the Collingwood star remains strong despite the rise of explicit photos on social media.

In her first public comments since footage of inappropriate photos Crisp shared in 2018 began circulating on social media two weeks ago, Mikayla Crisp said she had dealt with the matter at the time.

The Pies Gun issued a formal apology last week after meeting with the AFL’s Integrity Unit regarding a video shared on social media without its permission last week that contained explicit photos, crude remarks and references to illegal substances.

The AFL said Crisp admitted sending the photos to another person several years ago by mutual consent and acknowledged that “the content and its language, regardless of the setting, were extremely inappropriate.”

The 29-year-old has avoided a suspension and his wife, with whom he has two children, insisted they had both moved on from the incident.

Mikayla, Jack Crisp’s wife, has broken her silence after a video emerged two weeks ago containing explicit photos sent by her husband.

Mikayla Crisp shared a lengthy post on Instagram, thanking those who reached out to her and her husband for their support

“No marriage is perfect, and I’ve always maintained that our relationship has had its ups and downs,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

“We are all human and we all make mistakes. Strength of character is shown by those who face their mistakes by acknowledging and learning from them.”

Crisp’s wife added that their relationship had grown stronger since the incident and thanked those who supported them since the photos became public.

“Jack and I have both grown significantly as individuals and as a couple in the years that have passed since the incident happened,” she added.

A big thank you to those who have taken the time over the past few weeks to reach out and offer support or kind words.

“It has not been easy for our private relationship to be negatively commented on publicly. This is especially the case when reported matters are historical, private and handled appropriately at the time.”

In deciding not to suspend or fine Crisp, the Integrity Unit took into account his apology and his improved behavior in the years since the photos were sent.

“While the content was produced several years ago and Jack has shown a significant improvement in his behaviour, the incident serves as a reminder to all players to understand responsibility for themselves, their clubs and their professional careers,” said AFL- football boss Andrew. Dillon said in a statement.

In his apology, Crisp lamented the impact the release of the photos had on his family, but insisted he had “learned a lot and grown as a person” since sending them several years ago.

A video of Crisp circulated online two weeks ago and featured an image allegedly sent by the Collingwood star (pictured) above a caption referring to ‘little sl**ts’

The stills from the video also include photos of illegal substances and images like the one above where the message reads “come and drink and have some rules”

The Pies star has played 192 consecutive AFL games – the most by a current player

“Last week I found out that a video was being shared online that contained private footage that I had sent to another person in 2018,” Crisp said.

“I want to apologize for my actions and the impact they have had on my family and our club.

“I am incredibly lucky to have the support of Collingwood, my wife Mikayla and my daughters as I am disappointed in myself for those actions, the impact this has had on my wife and my family hurts the most and I offer I apologize to them for that. ‘

Crisp has played a staggering 192 consecutive AFL games – the most by a current player – dating back to Round 18 of 2014, when he was with the Lions.
