Can you spot the HUGE mistake on banner created for footy star’s milestone match for Collingwood?

  • There was a spelling error on the banner of the Pies cheerleading team
  • Isaac Quaynor celebrated his 100th match
  • But the banner was embarrassingly incorrect

The celebrations got off to a bad start for Isaac Quaynor as the Collingwood star celebrated his 100th game for the Pies.

The crest defender took to the field for last week’s game against the Gold Coast Suns, carrying the cheerleading banner in honour of their championship winner.

At the very least, you could assume the cheerleaders were referring to their defender and misspelled his name on the large banner.

Instead of ‘Isaac Quaynor’ the banner read: ‘Issac Quaynor’.

It was a bad omen for Quaynor and the Pies, who ultimately lost the match after squandering their lead over the Suns in the final quarter.

The manner in which they capitulated has led to a debate over whether the Premier League has lost its ‘aura’ when it comes to deciding matches.

Brisbane Lions legend Jonathan Brown questioned whether Collingwood had lost their ‘aura’ and insisted they were having problems defending the championship.

But Essendon star Andrew McGrath, who will play his 150th game against the Magpies at the MCG on Friday night, would have none of it after suffering a series of heavy losses to Collingwood over the past three seasons.

“They’ve done that a couple times in the past (by storming home late in games) and we know and respect how good they are,” the former No. 1 draft pick said on Thursday.

‘They’ve been a great team for a long time and we’re preparing for them as best we can.

“We know what strategies they use late in the game, (but) it’s one thing to know it and another thing to try to stop it and arrest it. We’re prepared for that.”
