A young college girl who gave birth just 15 minutes after shockingly discovering she was pregnant has revealed that she initially went to the doctor thinking she had ‘appendicitis’ and ended up going into labour.
Kayla Simpson, 21, a student at Indiana University, was shocked to see a baby when her doctors performed an ultrasound after she thought she was suffering from appendicitis because she had severe cramping and bleeding.
The student suffered from what she thought were severe menstrual cramps but showed no signs of pregnancy — and thinking she would leave the hospital without an appendix, she left with a newborn baby instead.
Her daughter Madi, one, was born just 15 minutes after the ultrasound was done, leaving everyone in shock.

In a series of viral videos posted to her TikTok account, the student explained how she found out she was about to give birth.
Kayla explained, “So basically I had very mild menstrual cramps around 12:30pm on November 7th.
“And then they got really bad, 30 minutes later.
“So I called my mom because she thought my appendix was bursting because I was bleeding a lot.
“It hurts so much that I could barely talk and barely move.
‘But I walked, so I could walk, I could do anything. I was just in a lot of pain.’
Kayla and her mother then went to the hospital to have her examined, assuming doctors would remove her appendix.
“I think my appendix is bursting and the ER doctor is pushing on my stomach and he’s not suspecting anything,” she added.
The doctor saw no signs of appendicitis, so he thought Kayla might have a cyst and suggested she have an ultrasound.
During the ultrasound, Kayla’s mother saw “something familiar” – tiny baby feet – and the doctors rushed her to the delivery ward.
“Before I knew it, I was screaming in pain and you see it as little feet on the ultrasound and I’m starting to scream so loud.”
The doctors came in shortly after and told Kayla that she was about to give birth and that she was 10 cm dilated.
15 minutes later, Kayla gave birth to her daughter.

Kayla experienced a cryptic pregnancy, a mysterious pregnancy that goes undetected until very late in her pregnancy or until she gives birth
She added that she had no ‘hump’, was the ‘leastiest she ever was’ and had regular periods throughout her pregnancy (Kayla is five months pregnant in the picture on the right)
In her viral videos, she explained that she had no idea she was pregnant because she was in no pain and had even worked a “double 12-hour shift” the day before.

Kayla went into labor just an hour before giving birth.
Although Kayla was shocked, she was so happy to come home with a healthy baby who became her “best friend.”
Kayla noted that her family and friends were very supportive and added that she called her daughter “frat baby” because of the way she met Madi’s father.
Although Kayla and Madi’s father are no longer together, according to Kayla, he will visit Madi and help whenever he can.
