Colin Farrell stocks up on booze while filming scenes for Max’s The Penguin

Colin Farrell’s title character was apparently getting ready for the weekend, stocking up on booze in photos from the set of Max’s The Penguin.

The 46-year-old Irish actor reprises his role from his 2022 blockbuster The Batman, with the first look at the character released last week at Warner Bros. Discovery’s unveiling of the rebranded Max streaming service (formerly HBO Max).

Farrell was spotted carrying a case of liquor out of a building while filming scenes in New York City for the upcoming series.

He was also spotted filming with co-stars Cristin Milioti, who plays Sofia Falcone, and Rhenzy Feliz, who was reportedly set to play The Penguin’s driver back in February.

Continuing the story that began in director Matt Reeves’ The Batman, the series depicts Oswald Cobbelpot’s complete transformation into the notorious criminal who would become known as The Penguin.

Farrell stepped out in a black and purple pinstripe suit with an unbuttoned purple shirt under his jacket.

He rocked a purple pocket square with matching black and purple pinstripe pants for his day on set.

The actor completed his look with a pair of two-tone brown saddle shoes while filming in New York City.

His co-star Cristin Milioti – who plays the daughter of Gotham crime boss Carmine Falcone, played by John Turturro in The Batman – stepped out in a unique black and green shirt.

The shirt had green fuzzy accents around her wrists and waist, which were matched by a fuzzy green miniskirt that fell to mid-thigh.

She completed her look with a pair of black pumps, spotted walking the streets of Gotham with Oswald.

The eight-episode series was first announced in March 2022, just days after The Batman debuted a whopping $134 million at the box office, en route to $369.3 million domestically and $770.9 million worldwide.

The series was a direct-to-order written by Lauren LeFranc, who will also serve as showrunner.
