Colin Cowherd puts Dwayne Haskins on his list of quarterbacks who won’t win a Super Bowl – 16 months after he died in a car accident

FS1 announcer Colin Cowherd placed Dwayne Haskins on a list of players he believes are incapable of winning a Super Bowl – 16 months after the former quarterback was killed in a car accident.

On his sports talk show “The Herd,” Cowherd compiled a list of 20 quarterbacks who, in his opinion, “can’t win a Super Bowl,” including Teddy Bridgewater of the Detroit Lions and Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, also on the list was Haskins, the former Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers star who passed away last year.

Haskins, 24 at the time of his death, was hit by at least two vehicles along a Florida highway on April 9, 2022. It was previously reported that a single dump truck hit him on the highway, but he was also “partially” hit by another vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol crash report provided to DailyMail.com at the time.

And earlier this year, the Ohio State graduate was alleged to have passed away planned, according to a lawyer who claims he was attacked and drugged by two individuals.

But Cowherd placed the former star on a list of quarterbacks who “can’t win a Super Bowl.”

While it’s unclear whether Haskins’ inclusion was a mix-up by the FS1 crew or Cowherd himself, the latter did not acknowledge his mistake when he checked his name against the list, instead pausing briefly before pointing out a typo in the image on the screen. which said ‘can’ instead of ‘can’t’.

Fans were in disbelief at the mistake, with one writing on X, “Whoever put that image together holy shit. Couldn’t even get it right.’

Another commented, ‘Ain’t no way man….’

A third move: ‘Hope for an apology soon, very disrespectful’.

A fourth posted, “Yikes, yikes, yikes.”

While someone commented, “I like that he corrected the image by saying “CAN” instead of “CANT” as if that was the big issue here.”

Haskins spent two years in the NFL before passing away after being picked by the Washington Redskins – now the Washington Commanders – in the first round of the 2019 Draft.

But he ultimately failed to live up to the billing, having set several Big Ten Conference records in his college career at Ohio State, and was finally released by Washington after just two seasons.

The New Jersey-born star was on the Pittsburgh Steelers roster as a backup quarterback at the time of his death, although he did not play for the team in the 2021 season after he named third-string QB behind Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Rudolph.

A month before he died in a car accident, Haskins had signed a one-year contract with the Steelers.

Haskins’ attorney, Rick Ellsley, claimed shortly after his death that he was the target of a “racketeering and robbery conspiracy.”

“In fact, his very expensive watch was stolen from him shortly before his death,” Ellsey claimed.

Ellsley, who was working on behalf of Haskins’ family, filed a lawsuit in Florida that he says is “an important step in the process of bringing the full truth about this tragedy to light.”

Defendants named in the filing included the dump truck driver, another driver charged with a collision with Haskins, and the Florida Department of Transportation.

The lawsuit also charged two people – Joey Smith and Meriem Yassine – with drugging Haskins “to blackmail and rob him causing him to be seriously injured and die.”

Smith and Haskins knew each other before his death, but Yassine had no existing relationship with the quarterback, Ellsley told DailyMail.com.
