Coles urgent recall for Sydney City Oysters

A popular seafood product is being urgently removed from Coles shelves, with customers urged to check the packaging immediately amid fears it could cause a serious illness if consumed.

The Sydney City Oysters 12-pack of Pacific Oysters sold in the deli at Coles supermarkets and online in NSW and the ACT between November 4 and 8 are being recalled.

The packaging incorrectly stated an expiration date of November 30, instead of November 10, next Friday.

If the product is consumed after November 10, it can cause serious illness.

Coles issued a statement saying the product was safe to eat until the correct best before date of November 10.

“While the product is currently safe to eat, customers should not consume the product after the appropriate use-by date of November 10, 2023,” the supermarket said.

‘Customers can return the product to any Coles supermarket for a full refund.

‘Coles Online customers can receive a full refund or credit by contacting Coles Online Customer Care.’

The supermarket has apologized to customers for any inconvenience caused.
