Coles shopper left in shock after getting $800 worth of groceries
A supermarket shopper shares her shock after accidentally picking up $800 worth of groceries.
The mum, whose name is Nik, shared a video explaining how she accidentally placed two Click and Collect orders at her local Coles, leaving her with an “insane” amount of food.
Have you ever wondered what $800 worth of groceries looks like? Because we found that out by accident,” she said in the video.
“Yeah, this stupid son of a bitch accidentally ordered twice. So the first order fell through, it didn’t work or whatever. So I ordered it again.
“Apparently the first order did come through, but I didn’t stop to think it went through. So now we have a ton of cereal, a ton of diapers, a ton of rice, carbonated water and food.

“For $800 worth of groceries… I mean, we even have two things of cat food here. It’s fucking mental. Like, who cares?”
In the TikTok clip, she explained that she had a huge amount of fresh food, including “10 broccoli, eight loaves of bread, 2 kg of butter, 2 kg of cheese, nine liters of milk, 4 kg of carrots, two whole butternut squashes.”
In her freezer, she had “more frozen peas, corn, and green beans” that she could stick a stick in, as well as “20 lbs. of rice” in her pantry.
The Australian mom added that the problem was more her fault than Coles.
“This is not a Coles issue. This is all my problem,” she said.

“I mean, the app broke when I went to checkout. So I was checking out and it said something went wrong and apparently it was related to my internet
“I tried to go back, I tried to figure out what went wrong, I tried to process it again and when I went back it said my cart was empty. I went to my emails and there was no confirmation email.
“I just assumed it hadn’t worked. I hadn’t gotten anything in the app that said it had been processed.
“So I, being myself, just thought okay, I’m just going to do it all over again. So then we did the whole order again, but then my oldest kid came down and said, ‘Mom, can we add this, this, this, and this.’
“The second order was slightly different, because we added the Fruit Loops, we added the Rice Bubbles. That’s why there was only one box, because they weren’t ordered twice.’
In the TikTok clip, she explained that she had a huge amount of fresh food, including “10 broccoli, eight loaves of bread, 2 kg of butter, 2 kg of cheese, nine liters of milk, 4 kg of carrots, two whole butternut pumpkins”
So I wonder if maybe the Coles staff – because it was a ClickNCollect – thought, ‘Oh, she’s just ordering for two different families’ because they’re slightly different. Don’t know.
“But I don’t think this is a Coles issue. I paid for it.’
She added that she was lucky to be “financially stable” and could afford the extra costs.
“If this had been a few years ago I would definitely have tried to take some back because financially we wouldn’t have made it,” she said.
‘But fortunately we are in a more financially stable situation. It’s still a story and it’s still insane,” she continued.
Some wondered why Coles didn’t report two similar orders coming through, while others were shocked at the amount of food for $800.
“There’s not much there for $800,” one person wrote.
It’s sad because I expected so much more stuff for $800,” said another.
Another said that for that money they would expect the ‘entire kitchen to be covered in bags’.
While another joked, Nik was “completely ready for another pandemic.”
