A Coles customer has been filmed letting loose a foul-mouthed rant and kicking a trolley after being accused of shoplifting.

The man was at the supermarket in Footscray, Melbourne’s inner west, earlier this week when he was accused of hiding items in his jacket.

In a TikTok, filmed by fellow shoppers, you can see how a guard gives the man his coat back and tries to escort him out of the store.

“Have you stolen before?” “Where is your goddamn evidence?” the customer yells at someone off-camera.

He then slams his foot into a trolley, with a woman nearby who is visibly frightened by the outburst.

“You don’t have to say there’s shit in my coat when it’s completely empty,” he shouts, waving his coat.

“I’ve been at it for five f**king seconds!”

Once outside the store, the customer continues to yell at the supermarket staff, even urging them to ‘meet outside’ in a laneway.

‘Let’s go!’ you hear him say.

A Coles spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that the company “values the safety of our team members and customers and will not tolerate abusive or anti-social behavior in our stores.”

“We report instances of anti-social behavior to the police and provide team members with equipment and training to safely manage these situations should they arise.

“We have a range of security measures in place to reduce theft and increase safety in the store, including Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) tags, security guards and CCTV.”
