Coleen Rooney spotted in hysterics as she shares a joke with her friend post gym-session following announcement that husband Wayne will return to English football

Coleen Rooney looked in great spirits as she was snapped laughing while out and about in Cheshire with her pal on Wednesday.

The TV personality, 37, was joined by her pal as they hit the gym together and the pair appeared to be having a great morning.

Showing her friend something on the phone, the mood was clearly humorous, as Wayne Rooney’s wife then burst out laughing.

Coleen wore a pair of black athletic leggings and green and white New Balance sneakers as she headed out for a workout.

To keep warm, she opted for a quarter-zip black fleece as she tied her brunette locks into a low ponytail.

The star appeared to be in high spirits after it was announced on Wednesday that her husband Wayne is returning to English football as the new manager of Championship club Birmingham on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The former Manchester United star was previously in America as manager of DC Football Club, meaning he and Colin were separated after she refused to move to the US with him.

Speaking about his new position, Wayne said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Birmingham City Football Club at such an exciting time.

“It is clear that they have a plan and are committed to achieving their ambitions for the club. We are fully aligned with what is expected.

“I have been building my managerial career, putting myself in challenging environments, to prepare for this opportunity.” It’s a project that gives me a sense of purpose and I can’t wait to get started.’

Earlier this week, Coleen revealed how ‘intense’ anxiety caused by the Wagatha Christie court case caused a secret illness.

Coleen sued Jamie’s wife Rebecca Vardy, 41, for defamation last May, and a nine-day trial ultimately resulted in Coleen’s favour.

She said: “It caused anxiety and there were a lot of tears. I have reactive arthritis. I’ve had it before, but this situation brought it on much more.

“It deprived me of my character and I didn’t want to associate with people.” I was completely in my own world. It was not a nice place to be.’

WAG continued: “It struck me how low I was at the time. My emotions really came out and it made the interview process quite intense, but it was also a good opportunity for reflection.

“I stuck to my guns from start to finish. My story has never changed since day one, and I have been telling the truth.’

Colleen also admitted that she never expected the case to blow up to the extent it did.

The mother-of-four, who has been with former Everton player Wayne since she was 16, continued: “I thought there might be a few offensive words said but I didn’t think it would blow up like it did.

‘It consumed my life for a few years, so now the burden is off my shoulders, and I can get back to properly focusing on my family and friends, who mean a lot to me.’
