Coleen Rooney FINALLY breaks her silence on Becky Vardy case as she brands nemesis ‘odd’, says her ‘evil’ texts made her sick and reveals how she came up with THAT Wagatha Christie plot in bombshell interview with British Vogue

Coleen Rooney has finally broken her silence on the libel case she won against Rebekah Vardy in an amazing interview with British Vogue.

After keeping a dignified silence, Coleen has branded her nemesis “strange” and said her “evil” lyrics read in court made her sick.

And she also reveals how she came up with a plot to thwart someone who had leaked stories about her private life to newspapers.

She said, “I feel like a lot of people still don’t understand what happened, from start to finish. But what I said in that post I stand by today.’

Coleen revealed that her plan to share the leaker publicly was all her own.

She said, ‘In the night I started thinking about what I was going to do. I just wanted these stories to stop.”

But she didn’t do a classic startup of the Notes app at 3am?

She laughed. ‘No. I like pen and paper – actually pencil and rubber so I can rub it out. So I started writing what I wanted to say and the next morning I put it there. That was the start of something I never expected.’

She said she hadn’t told anyone what she was going to do.

Add: ‘No. (The part) my friends and family were most surprised at me (because was) posting the post.’

On whether or not she had a previous relationship with Rebekah Vardy, Coleen said, “I felt like she was in the same world as me. She was in the public eye. I thought she’d be protective about things like that.

“We were able to associate because our husbands had played for England together. But she doesn’t live around here. She was not a friend. I never socialized with her.’

And while giving her thoughts on the lawsuit, she said, “It was so weird that first day, actually sitting on a bench together.

“It was so hard in that courtroom… especially seeing her on the stand. It was quite painful. I felt uncomfortable.

“I thought, ‘Why did you put yourself in this position?’ It wasn’t fun to watch. To this day there is no way she can understand why Vardy took her to court. She’s “strange”.’

And she revealed how she found out she won the case.

She said: ‘I had to go outside to take the call so I’m alone in my car in the middle of Manchester in an industrial estate. David Sherborne, her attorney, got on the phone and said, ‘We’ve won,’ he said without any build-up.’

Laughing: ‘I think I just cursed for the whole 15 minutes.

“It was quite unreal how many people followed it. Not just football players or the girls. It felt like everyone was reading about it. All ages, all types.

“The positivity I got from it… I’m glad about that anyway.”

During the trial, Vardy’s personal texts were read to her manager Caroline Watt.

Coleen said, “The texts made me sick. They were just another level. When I read them, I thought, the wickedness and hatred they had for someone they don’t even know.’

While Coleen doesn’t seem to harbor any ill will towards Rebekah, she said, “I’m a person who forgives and forgets, I can’t be bothered by things that go on and on. But this is of course completely different.’

Coleen admits the trial has put additional strain on her marriage to footballer Wayne Rooney.

She said, “He supported me, you know, but it took a toll. He kept saying the whole time, “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.”

“But there were certain times when we disagreed. Not on the case, but he would be annoyed with me because I was hot-tempered. You know,’ she sighed, ‘I didn’t have time for him.’

She admitted, “We’ve had our ups and downs. Apparently everyone knows. It was hard to go through it in public, but there has always been love. When the love is gone, you know, it’s pointless. But if not, you have something to work for.

“It has been a struggle at times. I look at (every) situation we’re in and think, “Can we go there? Is it worth going there?” I’m not giving up easily.’

“When people say, ‘Oh, she’s only in the public eye because of Wayne,’ I say, ‘Yeah, I am.'”

Of her upcoming three-part Disney+ documentary, Rooney said, “It’s evoked a lot of emotions. I felt like everyone had talked about it except me,” she says. “And it’s my story to tell.”
