Coldplay is being promoted on social media for promoting their tenth album, Moon Music, on home shopping channel QVC.
The sales segment, which featured all four members of the group playing various songs from the new record, sent X users into a frenzy as they expressed their shock at seeing the British rock band on the network.
“Why the hell are Coldplay performing live on QVC?!” tweeted one stunned viewer.
Another wrote: ‘Holy that QVC shows everything that is wrong with capitalist consumerism with Coldplay. The music is good.’
A third called the segment “unhinged.”

The performance even caused some of the group’s fans to question their “artistic integrity” or cause their brains to “shut down.”
“Yesterday my wife and I saw Coldplay perform live on QVC and our jaws are still on the floor. What happened to artistic integrity?’ asked an X user.
A passionate Coldplay fan defended them when they replied: ‘Relax, it was a joke. Except for the new album, all the items were a joke. Since it’s a silly concept to sell Coldplay on QVC, it was funny!’
Yet numerous tweets describing Coldplay selling their album live on QVC in America as ‘completely bizarre’ and ‘not serious’.
QVC is a free-to-air television network, where hosts typically encourage viewers to purchase clothing, accessories and jewelry.
Overall, viewers were shocked when Coldplay appeared on QVC on Thursday.
The world famous band consists of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion and they have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
But the Yellow hitmakers hit the retail channel to sell a themed tea set designed to tie in with their album covers.

In response, Chris sang, “I’m sorry we missed you in 2008, but some things are better when you have to wait.”
Host Jennifer Coffey claimed that more than 30,000 people waited to purchase the band’s album just 10 minutes after they went on air.

During an appearance on BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley, he said: ‘Our last proper record will be out in 2025 and after that I think we’ll just be touring.
“Maybe we’ll work together some more, but then the Coldplay catalog will be over, so to speak.”
Despite this, he retracted that comment and claimed that the band would continue for two more records.
Chris recently said that he believes Moon Music is one of the band’s strongest albums
He told Zane Lowe on Apple Music: “It’s really important that we have that limit. There are only twelve and a half Beatles albums. There’s pretty much the same Bob Marley, so all our heroes.
‘And having that limit also means that the quality control is so high right now, and it’s almost impossible to make a song, which is great. And so where we’re kind of coasting a little bit, we’re trying to improve.
Chris believes Moon Music is one of the band’s strongest albums.
He previously noted, “If you’ve ever liked Coldplay, your favorite Coldplay song is probably on this album,” he says. So, is there another Viva La Vida or Fix You? That’s a high bar, and things like that usually only become clear once the songs have been played live, but I see two contenders.
