You’ve seen the movie ‘Cocaine Bear’, and here’s the real ‘coke bear’ who gobbled down 69 cans of soda after breaking into a woman’s car in British Columbia.
Sharon Rosel, who lives in a remote area of Canada’s Sunshine Coast, experienced a “coke bear” firsthand when a mischievous and thirsty bear broke into her car and drank “massive amounts of soda.”
The bear also left a trail of destruction, including one shattered car window, ripped leather seats, and soda everywhere, including the vehicle’s gear lever.
Rosel, who runs a food truck, said her dog woke her up at 3 a.m. to the chaos outside her house when she watched from her balcony as the black bear used its sharp teeth to crack open the soda cans and destroy the to slurp up drink.
The resident of Earls Cove told CBC News: “I’ve been around bears since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and I’ve never seen them go after pop.”

Sharon Rosel, who is familiar with bears, watches over keeping all types of food in her vehicle, but said she was surprised the bear went for the soda boxes she left behind
She saw that the bear started with orange soda before making its way through the cola and then the root bee variety. But said the animal stopped drinking when it reached the diet soda.
She had bought the soda cases for her food truck the night before.
Of the 72 cans of soda she had in the car, the bear went through 69, leaving only three cans of soda.
Rosel, who is familiar with bears, is vigilant about keeping food in her vehicle, but told the news outlet she was surprised the bear went for the soda boxes she left behind.
At one point, Rosel tried to scare the bear away by throwing cold water on the animal from her balcony. She also said she tried to reason with the furry beast by telling him she needed her car for work the next day.
She even joked, “I tried to cheer him up by telling him I was a bear hunter. That didn’t help either, so I had to watch him devour my car.”
Long after the bear was gone, Rosel took photos of all the damage done to her car, hoping the insurance company would pay her some of the damage.
“Of course, a white leather interior goes really well with Orange Crush,” Rosel said.
