They’re one of Australia’s most famous couples well known for both their incredible swimming prowess and blossoming romance.

And swimming superstars Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon looked thrilled to be back in the water on Saturday at the 2022 Duel in the Pool at Sydney Olympic Park.

Both athletes won gold medals at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games earlier this month before taking a well deserved holiday in Venice.

But the moment they hit the water to warm up for the iconic swim meet it was business as usual.

Cody had a look of steely determination on his face as he got back in the pool.

Emma, however, looked carefree and hit the water with a big grin as she recently became the most decorated Commonwealth Games athlete ever.

The pair are said to have first hit it off several months ago as training partners under gun coach Michael Bohl.

They found themselves in the middle of a reputed ‘love triangle’ during the Australian Championships in Adelaide.

Reports claimed fellow athlete Kyle Chalmers deliberately bumped Cody out of World Championship eligibility in the 100m butterfly by opting to contest the event.

However, Kyle, who dated Emma for several months in 2021, later disputed this, saying he had always planned to compete in that event.

Cody himself elevated their relationship status to ‘Instagram official’ in July.

The pop singer posted a gallery of photos on Instagram of himself and Emma holding hands in Barcelona, Spain.
